AVCA Player of the Year: Sarah Franklin
This past weekend, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) conference held their annual AVCA Awards, among which the National Player of the Year stands as one of the most anticipated accolades. This year’s winner of the NCAA Division I award: Sarah Franklin. One of our star LOVB NIL athletes, Sarah is an Outside Hitter at the University of Wisconsin who is in her senior year. A standout Badger, she’s had a remarkable collegiate career, contributing significantly to her team’s 30-4 record in 2023 and their appearance in the NCAA Championship semifinals. Notably, she reached the milestone of her 1,000th career kill early in the season. In addition to being named AVCA National Player of the Year, Sarah has garnered recognition as the Big Ten Player of the Year and the NCAA Regional Most Valuable Player, further solidifying her exceptional achievements in college volleyball. Congratulations to Sarah Franklin - we’re so proud to have you as part of the LOVB family! Her 2023 stats: 4.62 P/S, 486 Kills, 4.15 K/S, .300 Hitting %, 226 Digs, 62 Blocks In addition to Sarah’s recognition, we’d like to congratulate the other LOVB NIL athletes who were recognized as an AVCA All-American for their achievements on the court this season.
