Each month, League One Volleyball recognizes coaches who are making a meaningful impact within their clubs and across their communities. March’s LOVB Coaches of the Month continue to set the standard through their leadership, consistency, and commitment to athlete development.

From fostering growth in the gym to building strong relationships with players and families, these coaches represent the heart of what makes the LOVB community special. Here’s what their clubs had to say about the impact they’re making.

Emily Angerer - Houston Skyline BCS
“Emily is a shining example of a young coach who leads with energy, humility, and a deep commitment to her community. As a former Skyline BCS athlete, she has returned to pour into the next generation through lessons, team coaching, and youth programming, consistently exceeding expectations with her work ethic. She brings joy, high standards, and authenticity to everything she does, making the game both meaningful and fun while embodying the values of LOVB.”

Steve Bleier - Madtown Volleyball
“Steve inspires his players to be better for each other. His coaching style is intentional and energetic, where effort is always non-negotiable. He understands that athletes thrive when they’re challenged and enjoying the process at the same time. What sets him apart most is that his standards come from a place of belief. He cares deeply about his players and knows what they’re capable of.”

Pilar Hincapie - SMASH Volleyball Club
“Pilar embodies what it means to be a lifelong leader in the game. As a proud SMASH alum, accomplished player, and dedicated coach, she invests fully in the growth and confidence of every athlete she leads. Her ability to connect authentically, foster trust, and hold high standards reflects LOVB’s commitment to whole-athlete development. Pilar’s professionalism, work ethic, and heart make her an extraordinary role model and a powerful presence within the SMASH and LOVB communities.”

Diego Irias - A5 Gwinnett
“Diego is the kind of coach every program hopes for—first to arrive, last to leave, and always ready to lend a hand to any team, coach, or athlete who needs support. His impact goes far beyond volleyball, as he invests in the whole person and gives his time generously to ensure every athlete leaves the gym with confidence and a smile. His selflessness and commitment reflect the very heart of what LOVB strives to build within its community.”

Michael Maurer - NOVA Juniors Volleyball
“Mike has made an incredible impact on our gym this season, raising the standard through his work ethic, leadership, and unwavering commitment to athlete development. He fosters a culture of collaboration and community, ensuring every athlete feels supported, valued, and empowered to grow. His positive energy, adaptability, and passion for the game are elevating our program in meaningful ways and truly reflect what LOVB stands for.”

Sarah McCarthy - Chi City Volleyball
“Coach Sarah embraces every challenge with positivity, professionalism, and a commitment to growth. She communicates with clarity and care, consistently holding high standards while creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and confident. Her focus on intentional progress and whole-athlete development strengthens not only her team, but the entire Chi City community, reflecting the very best of what LOVB stands for.”

Jessica Nowlin - Rhythm Volleyball Academy
“Jess exemplifies the heart of service within our LOVB community. Through her leadership of the Spread the LOVB campaign in partnership with Endure Athletics, she created meaningful opportunities for our athletes, families, and coaches to give back to children in need. From organizing clinics and community events to coordinating donations and hygiene packages, her selflessness and passion for serving others have made a lasting impact on our club and the families we support. She truly leads by example.”

Lena Wurm - PO1NT Volleyball Club
“Lena embodies the patience, resilience, and commitment we value in every LOVB coach. She pours her heart into each athlete at PO!NT, creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and truly cared for. Her dedication and genuine love for her athletes make a lasting impact on our entire community.”
