LOVB Austin Serves Up An Ace in Signing Volleyball Phenom Logan Eggleston
After leading Texas to a 2022 NCAA championship win where she was named tournament MVP, Logan brings another level of star power to LOVB Austin as the outside hitter returns home to play in front of home crowds. Logan currently plays professionally for Galatasaray in the Turkish Women’s Volleyball league after an exceptional collegiate career.
The famed outside hitter and 3x All American from the University of Texas is joining Olympic bronze medalist Carli Lloyd as a founding athlete for the LOVB Austin team.
“I am so excited to be a part of LOVB,” said Eggleston. “LOVB is focused on creating community and providing high-level, competitive volleyball for fans and players in the United States and I am so excited to get a part of building something so amazing.”
“Playing professional volleyball in Austin, TX is a dream come true. Playing volleyball at the University of Texas at Austin brought me some of my best memories and relationships. Austin helped to shape me so much as a person and a player and getting the opportunity to continue my pro career in a city that feels like home is amazing! I love Austin, TX and I am so excited to bring a new professional sports team to this amazing city,” she continued.
A three-year team captain, Logan was most recently named as an 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year honoree for her impact both on and off the court. She also earned the 2023 Honda Sport Award for Volleyball, which is presented to the top collegiate female volleyball player.
“With her incredible record, including winning five straight Big 12 championships, being named the 2022 AVCA Player of the year, and scoring a record setting 208 aces, Logan is an elite level player and team leader,” said Tom Hogan, director of sport for LOVB. “She brings next-level play and enthusiasm to her position, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join LOVB Austin Volleyball and help set the tone for what’s in store for Austin fans.”
As LOVB Austin Volleyball launches, the team will not only reflect the interconnectivity of LOVB Pro teams, but also the uniqueness of the city’s culture. Its color scheme of violet and dark blue was chosen to represent the energy and creativity of the city, which inspires its artistic spirit and progressive optimism to bloom. Fans new and familiar to the sport will be deeply aware of the team’s presence.
