LOVB Miami Taps Former Dolphins and F1 Miami CMO as President, Adds FIFA World Cup & NWSL Exec to Lead Fan Experience

Former Dolphins CMO Pri Shumate named President of Business Operations; Meg Patten joins as Vice President of Fan Experience and Marketing; Jett Sports to serve as the team's embedded commercial arm as LOVB's 10th pro team prepares for its 2026-27 debut

MIAMI (October 19, 2026) – LOVB Miami today announced the leadership team that will bring the franchise to life in its inaugural season, naming Pri Shumate President of Business Operations, Meg Patten Vice President of Fan Experience and Marketing, and Jett Sports as the team's embedded commercial arm. The announcement comes days after League One Volleyball (LOVB) unveiled LOVB Miami's ownership group, and marks the next step in standing up the only major professional women's sports team in South Florida ahead of its 2026-27 debut in LOVB Pro's new Eastern Conference.

Shumate will lead all business operations for LOVB Miami and serve as the franchise's public face in the market, with responsibility for ticketing, partnerships, brand and marketing, community relations, venue and game-day operations, and the build-out of the front office. She brings more than two decades of brand-building experience across sports and consumer, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer for the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, where she led marketing across one of the most dynamic live-event portfolios in professional sports. Prior to Miami, she spent 17 years at Nike, rising to Vice President of Global Brand Marketing for Nike Running, and held senior marketing leadership roles at Airbnb, the World Surf League, and Columbia Sportswear, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer.

"Miami is a volleyball city; it just hasn't had a professional team to call its own until now. From our Latina, Brazilian, and Caribbean communities to the thousands of kids playing in clubs across South Florida, the passion is already here. Our job is to build a team, a game-day experience, and an organization worthy of it. I couldn't be more excited to get to work," said Pri Shumate, President, LOVB Miami.

Patten joins LOVB Miami as Vice President of Fan Experience and Marketing, overseeing game presentation, venue operations, brand campaigns, and the fan journey from first touchpoint to match night. She is responsible for delivering a game-day experience that is distinctly LOVB and distinctly Miami, built for volleyball families, college students, women's sports fans, and international fans who follow their countries' players to South Florida. Patten arrives from FIFA, where she served as Head of Event Marketing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following a tenure as Senior Director of Marketing at the NWSL's Washington Spirit that saw her launch the club's "That's The Spirit" campaign, oversee best-selling Nike kit launches, and grow the season ticket base by more than 70% during the club's 2024 NWSL Championship season. A former collegiate soccer player at NYU, she has also led experiential campaigns for Nike, the NFL, the NBA, and Google.

Meg Patten, Vice President of Fan Experience and Marketing, LOVB Miami shared, "Our fans will come from everywhere: club gyms, campuses, the beach, and every corner of the world that plays this sport. The experience we build has to feel like Miami the moment you walk in. That's the standard we're setting from day one."

Jett Sports, a globally recognized management company and one of the founding organizations of LOVB Miami’s ownership group, founded by Matt Wiener, will operate as the team's embedded commercial arm, working alongside the front office to drive sponsorship, partnerships, and revenue strategy. From launch, this relationship gives LOVB Miami a dedicated commercial team with a best-in-class track record.  The Jett Sports team has extensive expertise spanning global sports and entertainment properties in the NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL, and MLS, including serving as a commercial partner to Inter Miami CF and Miami Freedom Park, helping secure the landmark Nubank partnership and supporting the April 2026 opening of Nu Stadium.

“LOVB Miami represents a meaningful shift in Miami’s sports landscape by bringing a professional women’s sports team back to the city. For brands, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something from the very beginning, helping shape not just a team, but its place in the community and the impact it can have for generations to come. We want partners who see the potential to build something differentiated and purposeful, creating experiences that connect fans to the game while helping establish a homegrown legacy for women’s sports,” shared Karina Moscu, Head of Partnership Strategy & Solutions, Jett Sports.

LOVB Miami is set to take the court in the 2026-27 season as a founding member of LOVB Pro's Eastern Conference, alongside Atlanta, Madison, Minnesota, and Nebraska. The team's ownership group, anchored by Suprette, Jett Sports, Garcia Family Ventures, and Coleman Family Ventures, brings together championship athletes, volleyball legends, entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders who reflect the energy and diversity of Miami.

Additional front office hires will be announced in the coming weeks. Fans can place season ticket deposits here.
