For more than 13 seasons, Ignite Volleyball has been building confident athletes and a strong volleyball community in Scottsdale and now they’re joining the LOVB family.
Founded by Shawn Covely, Ignite was created with a clear purpose: to give athletes the opportunity to play the game the right way, for the right reasons, in an environment centered on growth, integrity, and community. That vision has helped Ignite become the longest-running and largest club in Scottsdale, and one of the largest clubs in Arizona.
Today, Ignite supports 25 teams while offering a full range of programs designed to meet athletes wherever they are in their journey. From camps, clinics, and private lessons to sports performance training and college recruiting support, Ignite is committed to developing the whole athlete and helping every player build toward what’s next.
At the core of Ignite is an athlete-first approach that blends skill development with strength, speed, agility, and confidence. Every team receives sports performance training as part of the club experience, giving athletes additional tools to grow their game and compete at the next level.
Shawn has long been aligned with LOVB’s community-first mission and sees this next chapter as a way to expand what Ignite can offer while staying true to the club’s roots. Inspired in part by his close friend Senobia Szuch’s experience with ARVC in New Mexico, he believes LOVB is the right next step to help sustain and grow Ignite’s impact while honoring its legacy in the Scottsdale community.
By joining LOVB, Ignite becomes the third LOVB club in Arizona and part of a nationwide movement dedicated to growing the game, empowering athletes, and strengthening volleyball communities.
