In college, my boyfriend (now husband) would say this to me IMMEDIATELY after losing a match. It drove me crazy. Eventually, I started to say it to myself in volleyball and life situations.

It's in the past. This phrase helped my mind enter a problem-solving state rather than dwelling on what had happened.
